Emily Spencer and Andrew Hardesty were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 20, 2008 at Covenant Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Grove City, Pa. Pastors Dan Knox and Larry Semel performed the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Joel and Linda Spencer of Russell. The groom is the son of Edward and Doris Hardesty of Sewickley, Pa.
The bride was escorted in marriage by her father and attended by maid of hone Kate Spencer, sister of the bride. She was also attended by bridesmaids Sarah Spencer, sister of the bride; Kara Leslie, a friend; and Laura Hardesty, sister of the groom. The flower girl was Greta Hamlin.
Bestman for the nuptials was Steve Moffat, friend of the groom. Ushers were Ben Hardesty, brother of the groom; Tim Hardesty, brother of the groom; and Michael Spencer, brother of the bride. The ringbearers were Harry Hamilin and Gavan Hamlin.
Music was provided by pianist Elizabeth Barkin, guitarist Mike Lembke and clarinetist Sarah Lembke.
A reception was held at the church following the ceremony.
Programs were produced by Hannah Hamlin and Brian Hamlin. Aides for the occassion were Randi Blick and Dorothy Kern.
A pre-nuptial shower was hosted in Munroe Falls, Ohio hosted by Pam Konic, the bride's aunt. Another shower was hosted by Kara Leslie in Morgantown, W. Va. A third shower was hosted by the bride's sisters, Kate and Sarah Spencer in Russell.
The rehearsal dinner was held at the Kaufman House, Zelienople, Pa., hosted by the groom's parents.
The bride received bachelor of science degree in secondary education from Philadelphia Biblical University and a M.A. in reading from West Virginia University. She employed by Monogalia County School District, Morgantown, W. Va. Her husband received a bachelor of arts degree in history from Covenant College and an MBA from West Virginia University. He is currently employed at Citizens Bank, Morgantown, W. Va.
The couple resides in Morgantown, W. Va.
