Rouse names new CEO

By LYDIA COTTRELL
POSTED: March 30, 2009

Jasen Diley has been named the Rouse Estate's new chief executive officer.

Although he took the position while the Rouse Home is in the middle of major construction and in the beginning stages of a partnership with Warren General Hospital, Diley said he has not been phased by the whirlwind the job entails.

"I can't say it's been overwhelming," he said. "I've been here for the last six years."

Prior to taking the CEO position, he served as administrator for Suites at the Rouse and as director of human resources when he arrived at the Rouse Estate in 2003.

Diley said he learned the value of hard work on local farms as he grew up in Saegertown. He attended Thiel College where he majored in sociology and business administration with the aim of getting into human resources.

Interning for a long-term care facility, Diley eventually went a different direction and worked in the telecommunication industry for a few years before returning to long-term care work at the Rouse.

His familiarity with the area goes back camping in the Cherry Grove area as a child.

"I definitely have a heart for Warren County as an outdoorsman," he said.

Dr. Betty Bauer, chair of the Rouse Estate's board of directors, described Diley as family oriented, a quality that plays well at the Rouse.

Currently, the Rouse Home is undergoing construction to create eight household units. Each unit will have its own kitchen and dining area, creating a family-like atmosphere.

"That is definitely family oriented and that fits into what Jasen believes," Bauer said.

Agreeing, Diley said, "Family is important."

Bauer said the transition of Diley into the role of CEO was "seamless," adding, "We're just very excited. He's aware of the vision we have for the Rouse."

Diley describe that vision as "helping the people of Warren County."

"I'm looking forward to working with the great team we have in place here in the organization and continuing great care," he said. "I truly have a passion for the people we serve."
