In a story about a Golden Apple award winning teacher in the Feb. 26 Times Observer, it was reported that Joella Zaffino, the mother of the student who nominated teacher Melanie Victor for the award, requested a different teacher for her daughter. She said that request was made before the start of the school year and that, at the time, she did not know Victor.
