Dean Russell Strandburg and Alden Taylor Lye were united in marriage Oct. 18, 2008 in a candlelight ceremony at Wake Union Baptist Church in Wake Forest, N.C.

The groom is the son of Dennis and Cynthia Strandburg of Warren. The bride is the daughter of Kenneth and Kim Lye of Wake Forest, N.C.

Escorted in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by bridesmaids Ashley Bailey and Josie Snavely, both of Wake Forest, and Sarah Price, of Raleigh.

The best man was Tim Swanson, of Warren. Ushers were Dan Loomis, of East Hampton, N.J., and the bride's brother, Alex Lye, of Wake Forest.

Horseback Riding Friends hosted a pre-nuptial shower. Co-workers from the Animal Hospital in Wake Forest hosted a second shower and the mother's family hosted a third shower for the couple.

The day before the ceremony, a bridal luncheon was hosted by Kylie, Lindsey and Melanie Mahood, the groom's nieces; Leslie Strandburg, groom's sister and the groom's mother at the Mahood home.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom's parents at 1705 Prime in Raleigh.

A reception following the ceremony at Wake Union Baptist Church Center was hosted by the bride's parents.

A welcome newlywed part was hosted by the groom's parents in Feb. in Warren for family and friends.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology. He is a project engineer with Hunt Construction Group in Orlando, Fla. The bride is a 2006 graduate of St. Andrew's Presbyterian College. She is a veterinary nurse at Veterinary Healthcare Association in Winterhaven, Fla.

Following a wedding trip to the Grand Cayman Islands, the couple resides in Davenport, Fla.
