Varsity Football

Chautauqua Lake defeated Franklinville, 26-8.

Tony Dechario rushed for 227 yards on 19 carries and had two touchdowns for the Thunderbirds. Chris Hughes had 50 yards rushing and Jeff Smith had nine tackles on defense.



Girls Tennis

Jenna Raynor successfully defended her title at the Chautauqua County Championships at the Lakewood YMCA.

Raynor finished the season with a perfect 19-0 record. She is the top seeded player from Chautauqua County in this week’s sectional tournament.

Raynor defeated Fredonia’s Katrina Johnston, 6-0, 6-1, in the county championship last week.

Joni Keating lost in the consolation match but will participate in the sectional tournament, which is scheduled for Oct. 24th and 25th at the Village Glen in Williamsville.



Boys Soccer

Chautauqua Lake defeated Westfield, 2-1.

Bryan Fish scored the game-winning goal with 3:30 remaining in the second half.

Fish also scored the Thunderbirds’ first goal.

Dan Auflick had the game’s lone goal as Chautauqua Lake defeated Cassadaga Valley, 1-0. Fish had the assist on the goal. Jordan Reynolds had five saves.



Girls Volleyball

Chautauqua Lake defeated Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 25-18, 25-16, 24-26, 24-26, 28-26.

Julia Einink had 19 kills, three blocks and seven aces and Jill Einink had 10 kills, 14 assists and 14 digs for the Thunderbirds. Jen Fuller had 24 digs and six kills.

Silver Creek defeated Chautauqua Lake, 25-15, 14-25, 30-28, 25-14.

Julia Einink had seven kills, three aces, 11 digs and two blocks and Jill Einink had nine digs, 17 assists and one block for the Thunderbirds.
