Off to Applefest
A couple of spaces remain on the Warren Senior Center van going to the Franklin Applefest on Friday, Oct. 3, leaving the center at 9 a.m. and returning home around 5 p.m. For more information or reservations, call the center at 723-3237, or Margaret Sleeman at 814-730-9364.
Rummage Sale
A rummage sale will be held Oct. 2-3 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Youngsville. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
A rummage sale will be held Oct. 3-4 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market St., Warren. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
A rummage sale will be held Oct. 2-3 at Clarendon Trinity United Methodist Church. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon Friday. The sale is being sponsored by the United Methodist Women.
Dinner Friday
Lottsville United Methodist Church will have its annual harvest dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3. Take-outs will be available. The menu will feature fresh vegetable, fruit and squash dishes, roast turkey and stuffing with mashed potatoes and homemade pies, all for a donation.
To dance Friday
The Chautauqua Squares will host a western-style square and round dance at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in the cafeteria at Southwestern Elementary School. Adam Edson will call, and Paul Edson will cue rounds. Pie will be served after the dance. Observers are welcome. For information, call (716) 962-8364.
Compost Seminar
A compost seminar followed by gardening presentations by Master Gardeners of Warren County will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Jefferson DeFrees Family Center in Warren. Participants will learn to recycle leaves, lawn clippings, garden debris and kitchen scraps to produce compost (a fine source of humus for lawn and garden).
At 10:45 a.m. Master Gardeners will present "Putting Your Garden to Bed" and "Planting Spring Bulbs." For more information and to register, call the Warren County Cooperative Extension Office at 563-9388.
