Area Agency on Aging will serve the following menu at Conewango Towers, Warren Senior Center and Warren Senior Community Center July 21-25: Monday, vegatable lasagna; Tuesday, hamloaf; Wednesday, barbecue chicken; Thursday, hamburger hash; Friday, macaroni and tuna salad. Our Monthly Dinner is at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Third and Market Streets. A delicious ham and scalloped potatoes dinner will be prepared and served by the Kiwanis men, led by Joe Passaro. After dinner downstairs, participants will go upstairs to the sanctuary and be entertained by the first-rate Elks Club Band. Cost is $4 per person. Take your own place setting. Phone in your reservations and ride requests to 723-3237. There will be a TAWC bus available for transportation, and a space on the bus needs to be reserved when you phone in your dinner reservation. TAWC cannot accept reservations on the day of the dinner.
Sunday dinners will resume in September.
Quilt raffle tickets are available at the reception desk. This beautiful quilt was hand crafted at the center. Stop in and see it or log on to www.seniorcenter.com to view the quilt. Tickets are a dollar each or six for $5. The drawing will be Dec. 24.
A charming Victorian Farmhouse doll house is now being raffled at the center. It can be seen in the reception room. The date of the drawing will be June 30, 2009. Tickets are a dollar each or 6 for $5.
Are You OK? is a telephone reassurance system offered from the center at no cost to participants. This is a daily friendly check-in call to citizens who live alone. To benefit from this service call the center at 723-3237 and add your name to our call list.
The TAWC bus trip to Eire has been rescheduled for Aug. 6. Then the trips will be the last Wednesday of each month beginning with Aug. 27 and so on. The bus will leave the center at 8 a.m. with a stop at McDonald's in Union City, then on to our shopping spree.
There are a limited number of tickets for the Vince Gill show at the Chautauqua Amphitheater on Friday, Aug. 22. Participants will take a big bus and, weather permitting, there will be a picnic beforehand. Call for reservations at 723-3237.
A trip is planned for Branson, MO, Oct. 13-20. A brochure is available and seats are going fast.
The trip to Oglebay/Biltmore Estate now has a brochure available. The dates are Dec. 1-5, with a stop on the way home at the Longaberger Basket Company.
The Scandinavian/Russian Cruise is slated for June 9-22, 2009. Reservations are being taken now and a reservation sheet is available along with insurance forms.
Names are currently being taken of members who want to see the Broadway Hit "Jersey Boys" in Pittsburgh on Jan. 10, 2009. Call or stop by for reservations.
