LAUGHLINTOWN, Pa. (AP) — County detectives have charged a man with criminal homicide and first-degree murder in the death of his housemate in western Pennsylvania.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 57-year-old Gregory Randall, who police previously described as a "person of interest" in the death of 52-year-old Angela Cavalero.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review first reported that a search warrant indicates Westmoreland County detectives believe she had been bludgeoned before her body was found Friday in the Laurel Mountain home she shared with Randall.
According to online court records, detectives believe Cavalero was killed on May 3, six days before she was found.
District Attorney John Peck confirmed that police found Randall Monday evening and he agreed to be questioned. Based on that questioning and other evidence detailed in the search warrant, detectives charged him early Tuesday.
