Joanne Oviatt, artist, retired school teacher, member of the Revitalization Of Youngsville (ROY) Committee and one of the organizers of the new Artist Cooperative at 106 E. Main St., Youngsville, the site of the former Allegheny Artistry Gallery and Gift Shop, will speak at the Thursday, July 10, meeting of Warren Art League.
The co-op will be open four days a week: Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Oviatt will speak about the opportunity this represents for area artists and will have the initial rules regarding participation and three-month membership fees. She then will answer questions. The artist co-op is an opportunity for area artists to exhibit in a gallery they operate and run themselves that has been formed for the purpose of promoting and selling area art at consumer friendly prices.
The Warren Art League business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by the program at 7 p.m. at the Jefferson-DeFrees Family Center in Warren. All meetings of the Warren Art League are open to the public.
