A two-vehicle accident in North Warren on Tuesday afternoon sent three people to the hospital.

According to Conewango Township Police, Shelly Hamilton, Jamestown, N.Y., pulled out of the North Warren Dairy Queen parking lot onto Market Street Extension and into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Carol Wenzel of Russell at approximately 1:49 p.m.

Police said Hamilton's vehicle was pushed into the northbound lane on impact, blocking the roadway and diverting traffic for approximately 30 minutes.

Wenzel's vehicle came to a stop between Market Street Extension and the Bike/Hike Trail, according to police.

Hamilton and Wenzel were transported to Warren General Hospital for treatment of injuries, along with Hamilton's passenger, Hazel Martin of Jamestown.

A spokesperson for the Warren General Hospital said the three passengers were treated for injuries and released.

This is just too stupid for words. If you can't make an intelligent enough decision about waiting until there is NO oncoming traffic, & you can't see clearly enough to make a good decision, my advice is DO NOT DRIVE.

I was involved in an accident on this same strech of road. You can look all you want, but you can not see clearly enough to make a good decision. This stretch needs a light!! We could see the car in the other lane, but we couldn't see the car passing the car we could see. That is why there is so many accidents there.

How many traffic lights do you all need? There is one at the BP by Big Joes's-Quality-Jackson Run-Then the commons...if you see a car coming maybe you should slow down or STOP. I live in Columbus, Ohio...you all would never make it here if you think you have traffic issues. And, if you put in another traffic light by DQ then someone will be complaining that you have too many traffic lights (which by the way you do)

Why doesn't everyone just look before they pull out if front of traffic? I'm here to tell you, that, even thought there is a light in front of the "Commons", there are still quite a few fender benders!! Seriously, just PAY ATTENTION !!!

That section of highway has always been a disaster waiting to happen. From Midtown Motors to Follett Run Road, it should be a slower speed, no passing area. Unfortuantely, PENNDOT choses to ignore areas like that until someone with "prestige" makes a stink about it. We are going through that in our county (Elk) now with a certain stretch of highway.

Before a traffic light is installed, access to the highway will have to be drastically revised. Anyone can access that portion of highway at any time anywhere. If the entry/exit points are reduced and the entry/exit is controlled by a traffic light (like the Commons), there would be fewer "traffic engagements". It isn't "rocket science" it's only common sense.

This is still a hotbed of crash activity, even with Quality Markets out of the picture.

One of these day there is going to be someone killed because of this area, and then possibly a traffic light will get put in?
