Motorcyclists Mourn
POSTED: June 18, 2008
Chapter Q, Gold Wing Road Riders Association had a busy May, according to member Pat Cole. A staff meeting was held at Rich and Susie Oswalt’s on May 6, preceded by supper. The group’s regular meeting was held May 13, and on May 17, they had a dinner ride to Portville, N.Y. On May 18, there was a biker blessing in Russell. On May 24, Chapter Q was scheduled to ride in the Russell Jubilee Parade, but due to the death of member Ron Dutcher on May 16, Chapter Q members opted to ride escort for his funeral rather than participate in the parade. The club mourns Dutcher’s passing. He had his last ride in a side car on May 24 when his son-in-law, Paul Kepple, drove him to church. He was escorted by 16 motorcycles ridden by local members of the GWRRA and Christian Motorcyclists Association.
The group also had an ice cream ride led by Jim and Nancy Carlson to Sinclairville, N.Y., on May 28.
