BETTY HINKLE

Betty Albaugh Hinkle, 81, formerly of E. 37th St., Erie, died on Friday morning, June 13, 2008 at the Manchester Presbyterian Lodge, following an extended illness.



A resident of the Erie area most of her life, she was born in Heart’s Content, PA on August 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Ernest and Edith Weller Albaugh.



Betty had worked as a clerk at Heyl’s Pharmacy in Erie for 8 years and retired in 1981.



She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Louis R. “Bob” Hinkle on January 31, 2006; a great grandson, James Harris; and two brothers, Robert and Donald Albaugh.



Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Bastow and her husband, Douglas and Debbie Fohner and her friend, Robert Ferguson, all of Erie; a brother, Virgil Albaugh and his wife, Connie, of Warren, PA; a sister, Charmaine Schmader of Warren, PA; five grandchildren, David Bayer and his wife, Kelly, Marianne Harris, Christina Rogers and her husband, Andy, Trevor and Shannon Bastow, all of Erie; four greatgrandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.



Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home, 5000 Wattsburg Road, Erie, corner of East Gore Rd. and Pine Ave., on Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., including a service there Monday evening at 8 p.m. officiated by Rev. Patricia Fuller.



Private interment will be at the family’s convenience in the Columbarium at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
