Alday, Boland, Cole, Ottaway Lead Sherman Girls’ Track Team

Lindsey Alday, Halie boland, Alyssa Cole and Rachel Ottaway won the Two-mile Relay, which is the first event in a track meet, in a record time of 10:37; on Thursday at Panama. This lead the Sherman Team to a 75-50 victory over Panama. With this victory Sherman improved to 9 wins 4 losses for the season.

Michelle Persons, although not feeling well, picked up valuable points for Sherman to seal the victory.

Sherman also won the 400 Relay and the 1600 Meter Relay. The 400 Meter team was composed of Ellen Reed, Nicole Damcott, Becca ottaway and Alyssa Cole. Members of the 1600 Meter Relay Team were Michelle Persons, Nicole Damcott, Rachel Ottaway, and Halie Boland.

Julie Frye won both the Shot Put and Discus. Lindsey Alday and Alyssa Cole dominated the long distance runs and Beth Gribble the sprints and Jumps.

Morgan Breaky was third in the Discus and Becca Ottaway was second in the Shot Put. Nicole Damcott was first in the 800 Metter Run and Rachel Ottaway took first place in the High Jump. Ellen Reed was third in the 200 Meter Run and Hailey Boland was second in the 400 Meter Run.
