IRENE JANKOWSKI

Irene (Darzenkiewicz) Jankowski, 88, of Warren and formerly of Southbridge, MA, died, Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, following a brief illness.



She was the wife of the late John J. Jankowski who died in 2001.



She is survived by a daughter, Jane R. Pearson and husband David of Clarendon, PA; a brother, Walter Darzen of Charlton, MA; three sisters, Harriet and Frances Stolarczyk, both of Webster, MA and Genevieve Darzenkiewicz of Southbridge, MA; five grandchildren, David and Eric Pearson, Shelly Ward, Debora Santilli, and Gary Lapierre; three greatgrandchildren, Gary Lapierre, Olivia Ward, and Lettie Pearson; and several nieces and nephews.



She was also the mother of the late Carol J. Lapierre, and sister of the late John Darzen, and Edward and Fred Darzenkiewicz.



She was born in Southbridge, MA and was the daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Pelagia (Gajewski) Darzenkiewicz.



She worked at the American Optical Company in Southbridge, MA for over 30 years as a Glass Fuser. She was a life long communicant of St. Hedwig’s Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.



Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA, followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig’s Church, Everett Street, Southbridge, MA.



Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Southbridge, MA. Calling hours will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday prior to the Mass.
