Fire that killed northern Pa. man ruled accidental

March 31, 2014

WYALUSING, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a fire that claimed the life of a northern Pennsylvania man over the weekend was accidental.

Fire crews in Bradford County were called to the Wyalusing home shortly after 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Officials said 55-year-old Boyd Wood was found dead in an upstairs apartment. Officials said he was the sole occupant of the home.

Coroner Thomas Carman said more tests are needed for a ruling on the cause and manner of death, but it appears to have been accidental.

State police said investigators and a fire marshal had determined the blaze to be accidental.
