BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) — State police have been trying to find a man who stole an emergency vehicle belonging to a central Pennsylvania borough, before he also crashed and abandoned it on a rural road in a neighboring township.
Officials in Bellefonte, the seat of Centre County, aren't commenting on the theft, except to say the vehicle involved was not a police car and was not stolen from inside the borough, though it belongs to the local government.
That's why state police at Rockview are investigating the theft, which reportedly happened Sunday about 4 a.m.
Police found the vehicle crashed and abandoned on Garbrick Road in neighboring Spring Township.
State police did not immediately return a call Monday seeking additional information, including the kind of vehicle involved and why it was outside the borough when it was taken.
