MOSHANNON, Pa. (AP) — State police say a man was shot by a trooper during a confrontation that followed a two-county chase on a central Pennsylvania interstate.
Spokesman David McGarvey told the Centre Daily Times (http://bit.ly/1ixPJo7 ) that a trooper in Clearfield County tried to stop a car that had been reported stolen. A chase began at about 7 a.m. Thursday and continued onto Interstate 80 into Centre County.
Police managed to disable the car in Snow Shoe Township. McGarvey said the driver emerged but refused orders to show his hands and get on the ground, and after he made a furtive movement two troopers fired.
McGarvey said he was hit in the arm and fled, but was captured after a stun gun was used. He was taken to Altoona Hospital in stable condition.
