EMMAUS, Pa. (AP) — Firefighters in eastern Pennsylvania are battling a large fire at a seed plant that has sent huge plumes of black smoke into the sky.

The blaze broke out at the SeedWay company near Emmaus (eh-MAY'-us) on Wednesday. The property includes several structures and farmland.

Witnesses have reported seeing the smoke from miles away.

SeedWay, which is headquartered in Hall, N.Y., supplies farm, turf and vegetable seed. A company spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment.
