INDIANA, Pa. (AP) — The father of a western Pennsylvania toddler who drowned in a bathtub earlier this year has been sentenced to a term of three months to just under two years in jail.
Twenty-five-year-old Wesley Thomas was sentenced Friday in Indiana County in the February death of 13-month-old Ryden.
Thomas and his 26-year-old wife Tonya were arrested after police alleged that their three young children were left unsupervised in a bathtub in their White Township home.
Wesley Thomas pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor child endangerment. His attorney said his client didn't know that the children were alone in the tub.
Tonya Thomas is awaiting trial on homicide and related charges. A district judge earlier dismissed the homicide charge but prosecutors refiled it and she was ordered in August to stand trial.
