ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania woman is scheduled for trial in January in the shooting death of her boyfriend last summer.
The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/1cfWSF5 ) says 28-year-old Kristina Mae Allen was formally arraigned Monday in Erie County Court on charges including homicide and aggravated assault.
State police in Erie County allege that Allen shot and killed 27-year-old Dean Haggerty on Aug. 19 in their mobile home in Waterford Township.
Authorities allege that Allen gave varying accounts of the events.
They say she initially telling investigators that she reached for a gun Haggerty was holding and it went off.
But in another interview, they say, she said she had taken the gun from the victim and was pointing it at him to "scare" him when it went off.
