PHILADELPHIA (AP) — An anchor for the Fox TV station in Philadelphia referred to the cable drama "Breaking Bad" in a twitter post trying to get viewers to watch the station's coverage of a shooting that killed one person and wounded five.
The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1af41Ut ) reports WTXF-TV news anchor Joyce Evans tweeted "Thought 'Breaking Bad' was hot last Sunday? See who's breaking bad in SW Phllly, leavin' 6 people SHOT -- Tonite at Ten!" The tweet referred to the show that ended last week about a chemistry teacher turned methamphetamine dealer
Viewers immediately criticized Evans as Sunday evening's shooting remained under investigation, with one person writing: "this tweet sounds like it was written by a sociopath."
Evans later responded that she was trying to compare the "very real life drama" of the shooting to the drama of the TV show.
