DUNCANNON, Pa. (AP) — Officials in central Pennsylvania have released the name of a man found dead after an early morning house fire over the weekend.

The Perry County coroner's office said 52-year-old John Seiger Jr. died in Saturday's blaze in Penn Township.

Fire crews were called to the home shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday. Neighbors living on the other side of the attached duplex said they smelled smoke and were able to escape.

Emergency responders found Seiger in his bedroom while the fire was still burning. Officials said he was taken outside and pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner's office said an autopsy is planned. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
