2 men charged with stabbing Philly cabdriver

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Two men have been arrested in the stabbing of a Philadelphia cabdriver in a robbery that netted around $200.

KYW-AM reports ( 21-year-old Luis Moreno and 22-year-old Alejandro Gonzalez were charged Tuesday with aggravated assault, robbery and related counts.

Police say the 37-year-old cab driver was stabbed 11 times around 1:30 a.m. Monday before he was able to wrestle away a knife from one of the suspects and turn it on his attackers.

The cabbie flagged down police and was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening wounds to his head, arm, chest, hand and neck. His name has not been released.
