ST. THOMAS, Pa. (AP) — State police say troopers shot and killed a man who had barricaded himself in his central Pennsylvania home after the suspect tried to flee the residence with multiple firearms.
A spokeswoman said police in Franklin County were trying to arrest the 47-year-old man on aggravated assault charges following a domestic altercation with his girlfriend.
Police in tried to serve the warrant at the St. Thomas home but the armed man barricaded himself inside, and negotiators were unable to persuade him to surrender.
Trooper Robert Hicks said the man then fled the home with multiple firearms, but he "encountered members on the perimeter" and was shot and killed.
The man's name was not immediately released. Police and the district attorney are investigating.
