The question should be why were they not also talking of moving the lec, could it be because they are moving it to aves and keeping that building in use? Yes. How much will that cost...

I would be very curious as to the total annual costs of keeping the Russell building open as Central Office compared to the annual rent at State Hospital grounds.

More smoke in our eyes. So the utility costs at Russell and groundskeeping/snow removal will be free at Russell. Renovations for the offices, mileage for our leaders. Most likely a full time custodial person for the grounds and snow removal plus other maintenance work. There is NO WAY this move to Russell is not going to cost us taxpayers more. Presently WCSD doesn't pay for major utility issues, such as heat, electric, water/sewage, roof repair/replacement etc. If this BOD is serious they need to stop this Immediately, we have been strung along with non-factual info for too long.

The savings is not $150,000 which is the rent. The savings is 70,000, IF they include the LEC in this move because you have to taker into account the costs of keeping Russell open for use. Mileage and even busing might bring that savings even lower. No one addressed the LEC last night and the word on the street is that it is going to go to AVES which will mean no savings on that closure plus additional transportation costs.

And Russell is further away from the majority of the district's schools and students. How much more mileage will be racked up by traveling staff members?

I really hope Mary Ann and Tom push to get the outline of the renovations at Russell before this comes to a vote. Voting for this is essentially handing out a blank check. A responsible board member should not vote for something without knowing the costs. I applaud them for questioning this and shame on those who did not.
