Please be aware that this is not just an issue for football games. Numerous studies have shown that sports such as soccer and basketball have rates of serious injury that are also high. The school district needs to provide properly trained (aka not the school nurse) professional health care providers as trainers for all sporting events in which serious injury could likely occur.

I'm sure they would be happy to provide this coverage, IF it didn't have to come out of the district budget.

The Board would rather spend their energies trying to sweep under the carpet and protect superintendents using School District credit cards for casino gambling trips and defending themselves from clear violations of the sunshine laws by holding secretive planning sessions outside of the public view instead of protecting kids from serious and possibly life altering sports injuries. Well at least we know their priorities.

Yes, old gran, because the district and school board lacks the drive to want to pay for safety or education. Their number 1 goal is NOT education, it is revenue. They wrote those goals in that order! Education is their LAST goal. We don't have a revenue problem. We get more monies from the state than most schools. We have a priority and spending problem. Go ahead, old gran, ask if Brazil, I, or any other person posting if they want to be a part of the inept group that runs our district as if its a game in the sand?

Unfortunately I bet they will hire another administrator before they hire a trainer
