Let me get my violin, someone talked negative about your religion, boo hoo. Keep your religion in your church and home and it will survive forever. It is when you force your beliefs on others that you fail to see who you are,

As for Mr. Berry's query in his postscript. I would say those people would be called compassionate human beings. No religion has exclusivity to compassion. But if religious labels are so important to you, I would say that they would continue to be Buddhist and agnostic because as such they are not Christian. It is odd that no Buddhists, agnostics, Muslims, atheists or Jewish people have ever shown up at my door in an effort to convert me to their beliefs, only Christians, and yet so many of them say that they are under attack. It's this attitude that you are either for us or against us and pervasive paranoia about being under attack that intrigues me.

There are literally dozens of tele-evangelists on my satellite TV service available to tell me that without accepting this one religion I will be*******for all eternity and then ask me to buy their tapes and trinkets. I don't dwell on those channels because I don't want to feel attacked and threatened with eternal damnation while at the same time huckstered. But I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to do it. After all, everyone has a right to try to make a buck.

The starred out word is the root of the word damnation.

RR as you try to force your belief of a non-believer upon all, every chance you get. The mirror is there to look into, if you dare. Those that protest too much are the ones most in need.

Frugal, I'm curious how you equate RR's posit that your religion will last forever with an attempt to convert you and others to his or her beliefs? I read it as simply, live and let live in one's own conscience. I know many good Christians who keep their faith quietly and reverently, while others wear it on their sleeve and proclaim it to be the only true belief, that no others are legitimate. I respect and admire the former and shake my head in the presence of the latter. But, like those TV preachers, I believe they have every right to do their thing.

I agree that everyone can believe in what they want, makes no differance to me. But why are some so offended by a Christian telling you how they feel, and that they want you to feel the joy and happiness they feel. And quite simply some, like RR, do not believe in a higher power, try to push their belief, of no belief, on everyone else too. I guess because they feel it is a waste of time. But he is, just like the Christians, trying to pursuade someone else to think like he does.

And BTW I don't ask anyone to change. Nor do I critisize or belittle them for thinking differently. Everyone has the right to tier opinion.
