They already have a plan to put thousands into Russell to hide the central office gods. They cannot pay the utility cost at Russell cheaper than the lease cost at the state hospital grounds utilities included. No worry about roof going bad, a/c replacement. electric, water, sewage. Just think what renovations for these offices will cost. Then a new roof in a few years. Sell all these buildings and they can pay lease cost for numerous years and give us taxpayers a break. Wouldn't need so much space if we didn't have all these assistants, administrators, and others not doing their jobs.

If the reverter clause was applicable, the WCCBI would have lost the Pittsfield school long ago. It was originally solicited by a religious group that was going to relocate families to the land and use the building both as a school for their children as well as a "factory" in which they would produce goods. This offer was turned down by the school board after the WCCBI insisted that they would be able to get much more out of the building.

Any sale should have a reverter clause and/or financial penalties if repurposing is not COMPLETED within five years. Some unsold schools become eyesores. In the worst case, the district should be held liable for demolition.
