Think of the reduction in administrative mileage reimbursement the Warren County School District would have realized if gambling had been available locally over the past few years.

So Charles, since Pa is the only state with a lottery that has all proceeds going to seniors, you disagree with the billions of dollars going to seniors every year? Proceeds are used for services like property tax rebates, prescription drug discounts, at-home meal delivery and free transportation — all services meant to help Pennsylvanians age in their homes and not nursing homes. I guess you don't or will ever use these services? After all, using these services derived from such sinful behavior would be wrong too then right? Not everyone who gambles or likes to play the lotto is a sinner and going to rot in $@!!. Nor does it mean they gave a gambling problem.

Stonewall - We have a Republican controlled legislature and a Republican Governor. Since they haven't dismantled the Pennsylvania parts of the socio-economic safety I assume you refer to them as Liberals. What I find is conservatives rail against the social welfare system until they have need of it and then they curiously don't feel quite as committed to their "conservative" principals. Amazing how that works...

People that gamble, are going to gamble. Just because it can now be done in a bar, dosen't mean there is going to be a giant increase in gambling. I don't gamble and know a lot of people that don't. Just because you now can in a bar, I still won't start. Besides Charlie, isn't drinking a big no-no too!

By all means folks, lets buy MORE lotto tickets and make excursions to the casinos in Salamanca and Erie, then BOO-HOO when we don't have money to buy food, pay our utility bills and support our children. Sure enough, there are plenty of bleeding-heart liberals out there who will ensure that, despite our irresponsibility, all of our needs will be met. Then IF we hit the big one and become wealthy(greater chance of being struck by lightning), the tax-payer be damned. It continues to be a "why should I EARN it" mentality.

If you think the free choice to gamble is a big problem, prove it. Since there is no historical factual evidence that the story book jesus even existed, what does that say about you?
