This situation is a subject of national shame. What would happen in a national emergency if our military men and women followed the same practice of delay and deny? That said, I watched many of my fellow vets die from complications of Agent Orange while waiting for their disability claims to be processed. The VA eventually relented when the manufacturer of A.O. paid a huge fine that was converted into a trust. It is very apparent to me that waiting until a percentage of the sickest claimants die prior to approving benefits is a money saving practice for the government.
