I am quite interested in the Mayoral race. Mr. Ristau did yeoman's work during the whole GROWarren / streetscape debacle yet his assertions that alcohol be banned at the 4th of July parade as it is an event for kids and then cancelling the "lame" Christmas Parade (an event that is actually for the kids) is baffling to me. Maybe he just doesn't like parades?

Mr. Cashman seems to be a decent person, however, wasn't he on City Council through the whole GROWarren / streetscape mess?

dubedit: You're right. I looked into Google a little more and I guess he was charged with a felony but pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor assault. In my opinion, that's still not good but I guess everyone has some skeletons in their closet. My little smart phone here confirmed it was in November of 2006.

Was he found guilty or did he plead guilty? I can be arrested for anything, even murder, and if the charges are reduced or dropped or I am found innocent I am as pure as the driven snow, legally speaking.

I do remember Dan Ristau being in the Timesobserver several years ago for being arrested for a felony assault. How can he be Mayor or run for Mayor with a record like that??
