Well at least you guys do stuff for holidays. California does nothing. They stopped it state wide about 15 years ago. They believe that these are American holidays and Cally has too many different nationalities. How many kids are per class? My son(2nd grade) has 33 kids in his class and 1 teacher. FYI, we are finally moving in May! YEA!

I would totally agree. I've never heard the issue of volunteer shortages being brought up before. In fact there have been times when we've been told they have enough volunteers.

The comment about this allowing more time for the children to enjoy the party is an outright lie! My daughter's party will consist of 30 minutes total. Less party time then previous years. Many children have afterschool activities and can't attend the walk. As for vollunteers, I haven't heard of any classes that did not have a homeroom mother for the classroom party. They do not need vollunteers for the traditional walk, they never did before. I wish they would cut the b.s and just say "we are way to overcrowded and don't know what to do about it". The board was told before they closed South Street that this would be an issue for these occasions and they blew it off. Here is the result.
