I may be dating myself, but I recall the rifle club, and students riding the school bus with their rifles in cases with them.

My boyfriends son just came home from WAEC with some of those little GI Joe guys. He got them as a prize from the treasure box the same day that his dad got a letter from the teacher regarding the zero tolerance policy regarding guns and other weapons in the school. Talking out of both sides of their mouth, aren't they?

I think the pencils, pens, and scissors are more of a weapon then a lone BB.

Maybe teaching safe use of fire arms in school would be a much better idea. We had Rifle club when I went to school. Things at the schools have got totally out of hand. Common sense is null and void! Years ago our son was found with a BB we were called in they had the BB taped to a index card and said it was a weapon. Yes for real! Well they went on and on and come to find out he found it on the bus, so my next comment was what is a weapon doing on the bus with the grade school kids! Well that shut them up and we never heard another word! Sometimes you just need to turn the table on these idiots.

Remove the guns from the color guard!!! They must be tea party crazies. Suspend them all for a year!!! Save the children.

Last Friday while watching a football game, I thought about the elementary school students who were suspended because they brought in little, plastic GI Joe guns to school. What made me think of them? It was the wooden rifles that the color guard were twirling about on the field during half-time. Talk about inconsistency. Of course BOTH the plastic and wooden guns are innocuous, but common sense and reason are out the window these days.
