They seem to be doing a better job of bringing tourist in without even having the benefit of the bed tax. Now with the revenue imagine what they could do.

An entity that has already failed (the chamber) need not be expected to do any better with new responsibilities. Don't kid yourselves. This is a money grab and even a property grab on the part of WCCBI. Where are the businesses and the jobs the chamber is supposed to have been bringing in--but never has? It they haven't done anything yet--don't expect anything different.

**Laughter** Check out page B5 of this newspaper. WCCBI "gala" celebration of an array of fantasy events. It must have taken a real effort to conjure up that list. How much did the advertisement cost?? This is a joke.

Oh if the WCCVI Executive Director could only write a column that long on the successes during his long uninspiring tenure of creating economic development and jobs in our County. Problem is that column could fit in an entry in "sports briefs" and real problem is how sad that is for all of us still here.

It will be interesting to see how much the WCCBI spends on "business travel" which the Commissioners seem to equate with tourism. Just because someone checks into a motel does not mean he is a tourist. The "business travel" clause may*****money away from real tourism.
