Please people educate yourselves. WCCBI administative runs at over 80%. If you talk to local gas stations, restaurants, lounges, area attractions you will see how many visitors the WCVB has brought to Warren. Saying people do not know about the WCVB, maybe it is because they do not feel the need to pat themselves on the back constantly. It has always been about tourism which is why all the businesses who earn the bed tax dollars sit on that board. It is a team effort to bring people to stay in our hotels and spend days here. WCCBI is day events, brings no tourism to the area what so ever, why do you think the companies that earn that tax is fightiing it? If the WCCBI brought visitors into Warren it would make sense. There are reasons people, you might want to listen to both sides before assuming.

The whole argument is silly. I mean, who in their right mind would vacation in the cesspool that is Warren County PA?

Looks like the commissioners are trying to make it look like the COG (which is only there to prop up the resource extraction) will be used to support the ill-conceived action to gift the chamber with the tourism promotion agency and it's funding. This, after no evidence that the chamber is successful in what it is meant to do--bringing job-creating businesses to our county. Citizens are on to the unsuccessful happenings done by the chamber. Declaring something staged by the chamber as a success doesn't necessarily mean that is actually is one. That is one mistake, but compounding it by rewarding them by handing over the TPA responsibilities and $$ makes an even bigger mistake. What the COG thinks is irrelevant. That is a "Bortz" move to attempt to wash the commissioner's office's hands of what they did behind the scene. There may also be shadowy figures pulling the strings behind the scenes. This whole thing stinks to high heaven. Citizens should not let this happen.

A lot of people didn't even know the visitors center was there and they do a poor job of showcasing the area. How much money is spent on that unstaffed building.

If the TPA was spending 70 cents of each dollar on administration and closing its visitor center on weekends, that's incompetence in my view and a change is in order.
