Don't get too comfortable with these measures. The state house and senate are both currently proposing legislation to radically change the system, making it much more difficult to do what was done for eagles and otters. Sen. Scarnati is co-sponsoring the Senate legislation, which does not bode well for protection of, for instance, the Little Brown Bat which is a species hid hard by disease for the past several years.

I think we should give a shout out to the PA Game Commission for their re-introduction of river otters and fishers as well. Both animals are doing very well in the Keystone state. Just saw a fisher the other day, it's the 4th I've in less than a year. It's been about a year since my last otter sighting.
