Do we all have to live in fear? Many are irate with the church at times. Do you have metal detectors and security gaurds waiting for them at the church? I see no reason to spend thousands of dollars to worry about the slight risk to the people in the courthouse. Their jobs are no more dangerous than a convenience store clerk. Are you asking for gaurds and metal detectors there? I do agree when there was a threat that security was beefed up, but not every day.

Is your church willing to pay taxes to increase security at the court house?

Warren county has the "it couldn't ever happen here" mentality.

No lalala.

Warren County already has limited funds.

Where does the funding come from to create such security?

People make suggestions without really working through the entire process for viability.

Make a suggestion with a well thought out plan of how to implement and where the additional costs get funded.

I thought that the last renovation included single point of access with metal detector screening? Are they just not using it?

Just curious:

Does Fr. Neff provide security checks for those entering his churches for Sunday mass?

Church shootings are up 65% in the last 12 years. In light of the church shooting in Coudersport last year and in Michigan.,something should be done.Churches are "soft targets"

Fair enough Lifelong...Let's start with something simple. How much would it cost to have a single point of entry?

lalala, The courthouse is already built with single point of entry. No additional cost.

MTOMTO,, The additional cost would be the staffing needed for the the S.P.E. Also it would create a real inconvenience to those who typically access to the court house from the front.

There are more armed law enforcement personnel either in the courthouse or immediately adjacent to it on a daily basis than anyplace in the county. There is no more to fear there than anyplace else on a normal day. The courtroom itself is the only place of contention and it is well protected.

"Also it would create a real inconvenience to those who typically access to the court house from the front."

And a real inconvenience to anyone looking to do harm?
