June 25, 2013

For the second time in less than two years, the Warren County School District has a new leader at the helm. At a special meeting Monday morning, the district’s board of directors voted to appoint D....

Can't understand why we hire people who were "let go" or chased out of their previous positions with other districts. Shouldn't that be a fairly standard red flag?

Keymaker I was going to say the same thing. LOL

Future - Exactly almost all the votes are 8-1 or 9-0. Rarely do we here an alternative viewpoing and we do like Mr. Grant's on the tax issue they end up meekly voting Board President Stewarts way. One member I don't think has said a word since she ensured that 4 marching bands would remain after her vote to strip athletics to a bare bones budget.

The contractor they hired is real impressive. I live on College st, across from the school. My wife won't let the kids out. These guys are walking around the parking lot with there shirts off, smoking cigarettes, cussing up a storm. Around 4:30 it was like a beer party in the school parking lot. They tried to be discreet, but come on it was highly noticeable.

To me, to borrow a sports analogy, Board President Stewart is like Darcy Regier of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team. A proven ineffectual leader who has played the lead role in running our School District into the ground but thinks he is the best person to rebuild it. Regier has done the same with the Sabres but is being allowed by the owner to do a rebuild which is required because of his own mistakes. Regier hired a minor league coach of the Sabres to coach the NHL team, a guy who wasn't even granted an interview for the Penn State job. President Stewart is similar, he's hired an executive after conducting a sham of a search and interview process who he can thus control and be what he seems to really want to be but doesn't have the statutory credentials --- School Superintendent Stewart. Thankfully I'm a diehard Penguins fan, unthankfully I have 3 kids in the WCSD.

I'm sickened by the whole charade that this was a decision made in a public meeting and not pre-decided before any of us ever hear of the guy. Smoke and mirrors. This is how King Arthur keeps his vice grip on the district. He hires weak and/or corrupt supers so that he can control and manipulate them. When they cross the line (and they always do) Art's the hero for saving the district yet again.

We also have to be careful of feeling so privileged that Clark chose us without knowing how many districts he had applied too. He wanted to be a super again...he was active in his search too and in my opinion probably very active or he would have been better informed about our district instead of learning so many things for the first time the day of the forums.

Everyone needs to remember that Hufnagel can apply for educational jobs including super again at other districts and has a glowing recommendation from Stewart. In researching the Manheim district, the board minutes do not include any discussion or insight and it seems as if their citizens lack knowledge of how to do a right to know request. The biggest problem is the timeline of what happened in Manheim is getting misrepresented to try to make it seem like more of a board issue. If it was a board issue and he did nothing wrong, he would have had a buy out of the remaining portion of his contract. Super contracts are very difficult for districts to dissolve.

"non-disparagement/neutral reference clause"="Honor among thieves". The guy hasn't even stared his job yet and already has personal days. Only with a government job?
