There is a sad irony here. Stewart and the other 8 have been raising taxes every year and now they want a summit to explain taxes? Perhaps they should have boned up on this issue prior to running for the office.

Kind of scary to think that they directly impact taxation in the county and now need a taxes 101 summit. Perhaps they should have a how to run a business 101 summit?!

And to think the Hospital could have offered PILOT or SILOT up front in acknowledgement of the considerable government services they receive and avoided all this. So the result will be they will incur hundreds and hundreds of thousands in legal bills and will lose the case.

Publish, 100% spot on!!!!

I hate the PILOT program, I understand its need but it is like blackmail. Its a crappy way of forcing payment to tell someone to pay a cost instead of spending it on legal fees. The problem is, if someone believes they will win their tax free status, legal fees are a one time cost while PILOT would be reoccurring.
