If you had them working on separating trash or recyclables then you are giving them access to materials to make weapons. You would have to have more guards to do more strip searches and have more metal detector, transportation, a high security compound to do this work in with all the extras the state and federal government’s regulations require. Warren and Warren County could never pay for this. Not even with what money they might get from the recyclables.

Do you throw away old knives? Do druggies throw away old needles? How do you think recycling works? Do you really think that ONLY brown glass goes in the brown glass bin? Then you're naive.

"I didn't know we recycled weapons and needles!"

I think that was in a special they ran on the Sci-Fi Channel, which is on cable.

Well, if prisoners are lying around watching TV, they're locked up and don't need much guarding. Let them sort through trash, which includes weapons, drug needles, etc., and they need a lot more guarding.

You cant force the prisoners to do that kind of work, its cruel and unusual punishment. It will take time away from the cable tv. And worst of all, provide a benefit to the community.
