I agree that it shoudl be interesting. Does anyone have acces to the previous audits? I have been reading a lot of references to them in this and other story lines but must plead stupid because i have only seen parts.

Saveourschools, unfortunately this happens too often. One group implements something that makes sense (and for a reason) and future groups reverse it because they didnt know why it was implemented in the first place. Frustrating.

The old board put changes into place to safe guard the cards from over use and abuse. The new board squashed the efforts by approving a policy that gave the superintendent full control of distribution of these cards for use, then the part of the policy that outlines misuse, they failed miserably too follow through with that part of the policy.

Yes, Brazil, lectured them to not speak out against them as I recall. Pretty high self opinion.

Move along, nothing to see here, folks.

Well put MTOMTO. The Board tried to cover up and let the story end with "he missed his family". Thanks to the Times Observer and a few concerned citizens we all found out that wasn't true. The Board tried the Nixonian route and failed. Then we have to listen to the Board President condescendingly lecture the citizenry on their faults.

"Their fault usually lies with how "stuff" is handled after it comes to light."

And trying to sweep it under the rug is how they tried to handle it.

It is tough to hang a lot on volunteer boards when it comes to day to day operations. While ours have not been awesome by any stretch, I cannot see how either is really at fault for the past card use or the Brandon card issue.

Appears to me that the "old" board couldn't manage the district plastic useage any better than the current board did with Brandon.

Yet, people don't understand why companies do not want to build here. Look at the lack of control by the various levels of elected officials all around the Warren area.
