Educate, I criticize the board often but if you are insinuating that the board gets paid, it does not. It is Assn entirely volunteer position.

Or they could divide the extra money amongst themselves since the board is so overworked!

I wouldn't be surprised that if there is enough money left over, that someone doesn't get an extra gym or pool instead of doing what is financially responsible....or maybe continue to pay part of an administrators salary out of qzab funds under the cyber school stipulation.Uggh.

I still shake my head in disbelief that we are spending millions to appease a political\regional issue and ignoring the educational issues in the district. When was the last decision made that was good for education and improved it beyond what we once had. We have slid so far backwards in just a couple years and continue to slide this slippery slope of mismanagement. Our board needs a wake up call!

The larger problem is that due to sequestration our almost no interest loan is back firing. It is a loan that receives the interest back through the irs, well, the federal government is already backing off its promise and we are going to lose $100,000 this year alone. As a board member, I would be fearing that this loan may not be such a good deal in the future. The tax break on the interest was never a guaranteed tax break. This project was never put together to get our district ahead, the savings of the plan solely pays for the buildings and that's it. This board needs to be asking where corners can be cut so to give back as much of this money as possible so that the pay back of this loan doesn't harm the district if we lose the entire tax credit on the interest.

Nineteen more classrooms? Are that many more needed for a shrinking population?

Cheapest isn't always the best. Usually it's far from it.

Usually when a bid comes in far lower than the other bids then there is something wrong with said bid.

As I watch the past decisions made,I hope this is the correct move ,and next year it doesn't go on the For Sale list.
