Dubedit, I agree with' may expell'. but to be honest your point about getting expelled for breaking a rule "like having two box cutters in your car. Having a jobs program that puts you working at lets say CvS as a stock person with work issued box cutters in the console, and you go from school and direct to work program....Now if your on the trap team any shooting club or for that case" a golfer" Can bring his tools of the trade I dont get it... And to turn off a tape player and say they were not plaing games... yikes'..Oh I see we can have knives on plains again...????? judgement ????? discresion?...these days?

Option 2 sounds good. Bring some drugs to school, get expelled, stay home, sleep in, and have your own personal teacher come to your house. I'm old school, I wish expelled students had to either cyber school or go to another district on the parent's dime. But that isn't the way it's ever going to be.

First off, that state law should be changed from "shall" to "may" expel. The zero-tolerance crap has resulted in little kids being expelled for bringing squirt guns to school. Put some judgment back into it. That said, expelled students, in my book, are on their own. If they end up in jail -- as I guesstimate that most will -- why bother with them? I'd like to see a well-documented study on what does happen with expelled students whose parents try to continue their educations. My guess is, same thing that happens with other young troublemakers - nothing good.
