A Plastic Problem

March 27, 2013

The taxpayers also have the right to the return of $ 7,500.00 for relocating.

I think everyone that was involved needs to be questioned here. Something is wrong on the inside (meaning CO). They know more than is being said. And as tax payers we have the Right TO Know!!!

Paul Mangione is running and stepping up but the reason why other good people won't do it is because of Art Stewart and his dictatorship. Apparently you forget how he treated the last 2 board members who actually took being accountable to tax payers and education seriously.

Rockytop must be a friend of Stewart? The fact stands that they went through steps to try to hide this.

I haven't seen anyone else in Warren County stepping up to run for the school board and be chairman/chairlady. I'm sure Author Stewart did what was called for in this situation. I think Warren County is lucky to have a person of Author Stewart's background that is interested enough in Warren County's school district to run for this office. I wouldn't put up with all the flak he receives as a school board member. One of those positions where your*****if you do and*****if you don't. Can't please everyone all the time.

I feel the most sorry for the children in Warren County, above all else. They are the innocent ones who are paying the ultimate price. I praise the teachers and administrators who have given their "all" to the children - with less. I also feel even sorrier for all of the honest people who lost their jobs due to "budget cuts". It makes you wonder if all that even had to happen in the first place. I don’t know… This whole thing is just so sad and so unfair to the children and truly dedicated educators and administrators of Warren County. Hopefully something good may come out of this and it will never happen again. So sad.

Mama....You and your son should be concerned. His so called "Polar Bear Fund" needs to be looked into very carefully and quickly!!!! This man did so much more than what has been revealed so far it is frightening!!! The taxpayers of this county need to step up and say to the school board .."We want a complete investigation and outside audit done on anything that involved Brandon Hufnagel"!!!!!

What is extremely insulting is that his letter starts off talking about how he helped the district work through financial and educational difficulties. The education in our district is a hot mess and financials?

I was not questioning his family life in the way that some apparently thought. The point of my previous post was that if he was using family as an excuse to resign and spending time with family so was important to him, then why was he at the casino when he could have been spending the weekend home? He was talking out of both sides of his mouth and I don't believe either side!

@ It's Time...you are so right! Proudly I never sang his praises...exactly the opposite! Some are just slow to realize the reality but better to learn slow than to never learn at all. Would be interested to see a poll done on how many believe his letter or better yet how many were just plain insulted by it!

We obviously need some "new blood" on the school board...or some people with "balls". It's time to stop listening to the administration. This is the same board that just gave $1500 per month pay raise to directors taking on "more responsibility". Didn't every teacher, aide, janitor, ect take on more responsibility after all the furloughs? Ridiculous!

My son came home today and told me that teachers were speaking of money missing from fund raising under Mr. Hufnagel also. He said that several teachers were angry with him. I would like to know what the school board is keeping us in the dark about this time.

Why was the credit card was not secured and kept in a locked box or safe at the main office? Why is a super allowed to walk around with a district credit card in his wallet? This seems to be a basic accounting practice. Maybe it is a privilege that comes with the level of trust?

Yep, I've heard of them, but unless you have a contract to pastor a Baptist Church, they are virtually unenforceable because of a whole basket-full of constitutional problems. 1st, 4th, 5th

Jan 21st was a "Professional Day". I would like to know what time these charges were made. Seems like it could take a long time to go through close to $6,000 at a casino. If these were made prior to 3PM that day did he use a vacation day or personal day. And if he was using one of those he could have enjoyed a 3 day weekend with family. As for other issues I agree that 18 trips moving from York to Warren is excessive especially when only one person ever came to Warren. $7,000 of taxpayer dollars spent to move into a family members camp...or has this been mistaken also. Why would the board approve such nonsense? Why the cover-up if it was an honest mistake? Lots of good people left the district because of lack of leadership....guess they are the lucky ones...they got out!

I didn't say it was my business. Just as it's none of an employer's business whether someone is a "good family man."

"They need a outside audit done on all of Hufnagels expeneses for his 18 months of service?"

And to recover the money provided to him to move into this area.

It will be all covered up in the long run. This guy got caught this time, how many others have pulled similar stunts and not been caught. This school district needs a complete detailed itemized audit for the taxpayers to review. There has been in the past a "fudging" of figures and it will continue. They just raise taxes to cover their jobs. Afterall, WCSD is second largest employer in the county, (the shrinking county" but need these 4 highschools and all the future years of debts, tax raises, to keep these people in their jobs. How can this administration be justified with decisions like this? Who else has a blank check credit card?
