Local Game Commission Officers tend to overstep their bounds and create a lot of ill will amongst land owners and hunters alike. The Pa Game Commission is a cash generating orginization that reaps millions of dollars thru timber sales, oil and gas leases and hunting license sales yet pays very little to local government for roads, fire protection and schools. Combine them and share the pool of cash.

I don't think it is a good idea for Rapp to be involved in this matter, she has used very poor judgement lately.

The debate should be interesting. the PFBC is closing hatchery's in order to pay for the increased benefits the state gave all it's employees a few years ago which never should have happened.

At the same time the PFBC is 9 million in debt the PGC runs a approx 54 million surplus each year but cry's it's too poor to increase programs to help the hunter's and ignores their complaints about decreasing game populations.

At the same time The PGC is using hunters money to fund programs for many non-game species and says it wants to give many of it's employees a 20 year full retirement option.

A decade ago I would have been totally against a merger. In todays reality I would have to lean towards supporting it. Perhaps a few new voices at the top would be beneficial to the sportsmen of the state.
