New trees coming to river

Pennsylvania Avenue is about to see some new growth. Last fall, trees in the 400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue were removed as part of efforts to clear power lines....

Yes, redwoods would never grow back into the power lines. I believe they are looking to replace with dwarf variety trees. Oh, wait, was that PC?

While I agree it would make sense to have the utility company pay for this, but in the end you know who pays? Their customers or in other words, us.

Let Penelec pay to remove the stumps, fix the road if need be and replace the trees.

Those trees didn't grow overnight, and neither did any imagined problems with the power lines. What a loss.

Yes sir, you are exactly right. Speaking from experience, an excavator is going to have it's work cut out for it trying to remove them, I believe those roots go well under the road in some places. Best to spend all that money on our roads and plant new trees away from the stumps.

Wonder if its a good idea to remove those massive root systems,on that steep bank?Those trees were planted to help stabalize the ground.Im sure the city and Mike Holtz know what they are doing.
