Our opinion: This time, a chorus

Seems all are elected officials turn out to be crooked.The systems obviously broken.If their is no change the revolving door just keeps spinning.Reading the comments it seems that Corbett has possibly broken a few laws.Or does his position make him above the law?Its always seemed strange the state sells you liquor,then prosecutes you when you drink too much.

Urge everyone to watch "From the Frontlines" video on Youtube which shows a private citizen trying to attend a gas company meeting being held at a Montrose, PA school to discuss siting a compressor station next to the school. The citizen is told that she can not attend the meeting because "the superintendent of schools" will not allow the public to attend. Can this kind of thing happen? What do you think?

Regarding oil drilling permit matters; why do you think arthur is where he is?? Why? To position himself and the school district "intervenor" status in any challenges to his private business on the ANF. Pretty slick. Great job he's been doing with the school board, BTW. Linked right up with the commissioners who have similar affiliations, It's all tied up, and it happened right under your noses, just like the gerrymandering maneuvering will "ensure PA" for whatever republican who couldn't win any other way in the next election.

What a great teaching lesson from our School Board President and presumptive front runner for Superintendent. Let's see students, here's out it goes. We have a governor who has shown little interest in anything besides filling his own campaign coffers and ensuring himself future riches after his governorship ends. He makes draconian cuts in education programs across the Board. Then, one of his schemes, to sell the Liquor stores, hits some rough waters. So he comes up with a great idea. He'll dangle a carrot towards education linking his liquor store sales to improving education across the Commonwealth. He's hoping that School Boards and Superintendents can forget the past in their mad rush towards the same monies he took away from them when he didn't need them for any of his political/personal enrichment goals. Wonder if the Board President would think this was a good idea if the Governor was going to get the monies through some other means, oh umm... say oil drilling permit charges.
