It seems the state has decided to go another way in regards to handling mental health issues. The beacon light web site is advertising hiring all positions with competitive salaries.Beacon has the blessing of the state to receive as many tax dollars as they can get in donations.Guess as long as the tax money is donated, then the tax payers and the state will never notice the shortfall.Seems like a underhanded way of spending tax dollars. No funding for state hospitals but unlimited funding for Beacon Light.

Wonder how she's voted overall on mental health funding? Why would you think a request for a meeting would change anyone's opinion with regard to her failed record over her time in office. 5 F's and B don't equal a passing grade.

The county commissioners will fight against the state hospital because of all the jobs Beacon light, human services etc. have created for this area. It doesn't matter that there is no professional care at these group homes and halfway houses. It is just a KENNEL for the troubled people but it means jobs. Increase the hospitals capacity and tthe jail would be quite empty. It's just a money issue for certain ones, especially the friends who own the group homes!!
