Yes, I believe you are the only one saying that. This was a fun event with all expenses (the "pie" was whipped cream!!)paid by the teacher who ALSO donates an immense amount of time and energy to her students and the SADD group. The students in SADD worked for weeks in a collaborative effort to put on this event. They also worked with the art teacher and her students to create beautiful artwork to honor those lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Brandon Hufnagel was the superintendent at the time of this event. I am truly at a loss to understand how the amount of students who receive free and reduced lunches relates to this event or article. Maybe you should check facts before passing judgment.

solitude

Don't tell me I refuse to see it! I live it!! I am just one of the many in our building who care, teach, listen, guide, loan, donate, and empower on a daily basis. What keeps me motivated in my venerable posiition? My sense of humor! Believe it or not, many WCSD educators and administrators have fun with students AND donate money to worthy events and fundraisers every day of the week. These are choices we all make on a daily basis and the teachers on that day had a choice to participate or not. I am sorry that you feel it was a destructive event, but I can assure you that no student, administrator, or teacher was harmed during this event, not even feelings. I can also assure you that many happy memories were made that day. We model and expect mutual respect at our school on a daily basis.
