sickofit, actually the pharmacy that was there was RiteAid. They offer little to no clinical services and have no training beyond the initial pharmacy school degree. A Clinical Pharmacist on the other hand would offer services far beyond that and have a much higher education level. Google it. Be enlightened. Pharmacy is MUCH MUCH more than RiteAid & CVS. What Beacon Light could spend their money on wisely would be a Clinical Pharmacist with an office in that building. Many serious organizations are moving towards this and seeing excellent results.

This place isn't anything but another for profit business, disguised as a non. There was a time when they cared more about the kids than $$. When they changed over, it was more about the big bucks, and I am not the only one who feels this way either. Former staff members have said it, former mentors have said it. I can't believe one of their own former staff people, James Wiseman, became the Executive Director of the place. But, I guess that's what one gets when you flash the almighty greenback in front of someone.

Why would BL take on ANY other property? I've spent hours, over months, visiting Grp Home. I saw Broken-out storm windows, glass left on windowsills, pealing paint from lack of mainten, Longtime water leaks, Outdated fire exting, swiss-cheese-like blankets, no window shades for girls' bath, bedrm windows + more. Tried, but administrators not cooperative. The PA DPW began investigation, insps today. Also, checkout the FB of facility staff, who "protect" and "care" for children. Something really wrong here.Even as a non-profit, someone is profiting handsomely, and its not the kids. Fredsweep@msn****

Did I read that right? A mental health facility located on the grounds of a state mental hospital is not conducive to mental health?

I think I'm getting confused.

Beacon Light currently operates out of a building on the state hospital grounds-- the setting is far from conducive for both office and mental health provider activity.

Sounds like an excellent place for a pharmacy with a well-trained pharmacist knowledgeable in psychiatric medications who would be able to provide convenient filling of prescriptions for patients of the new location, in addition to valuable clinical knowledge to the staff.
